The Acura cars come in various makes and are mostly front-wheel-drive vehicles with a superb chassis and a wonderfully tuned engine that loves to revolve. The Acura transmission is able to generate more power and there have been important but slight revisions to the external styling. The iVTEC engines boast a broad torque and has an immediate throttle response followed by a rapid acquisition of speed. The automatic transmission allows the gear ratio between the engine and the drive wheels to change as the car speeds up and slows down. The input shaft of the transmission turns at the same rpm as the engine.
The Acura rebuilt automatic transmission contains mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and computer controls, all working together in perfect harmony. The Acura automatic transmission also has a neutral position which disconnects the engine from the drive wheels. Reversely, it also causes the drive wheels to turn in the opposite direction allowing for backing up. In the Acura front wheel drive cars, the rebuilt automatic transmission is usually combined with the final drive to form what is called a transaxle. The transaxle is generally tucked under the engine on the side of the engine facing the rear of the car. The front axles being connected directly to the transaxle provide power to the front wheels. The power flows from the engine, pass the torque converter to a large chain. This chain then sends the power through a 180 degree turn to the transmission that is along side of the engine. The power is routed from there through the transmission to the final drive. Here it is split before being sent to the front wheels through the drive axles.
A torque converter, mounted between the engine and the transmission, allows the engine to continue running when the car comes to a stop. The Acura hydraulic system sends transmission fluid to all parts of the transmission and torque converter.
In rebuilt Acura automatic transmissions, also known as overhauled transmissions, the transmission is removed from the vehicle and completely disassembled. After inspecting each and every part for wear, it is cleaned in a special cleaning solution or replaced with another part if damaged. In case if the need arises, the torque converter is also replaced with a remanufactured one. Acura upgrade transmission kits are also available to resolve any design defects.
We offer rebuilt and remanufactured Acura automatic transmissions to improve the torque performance and provide more horsepower.
